EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITY
SoMad is currently receiving applications for their fourth annual Mad World, an Earth Day event and exhibition combining experimental film, visual art, and live performance. Opening on April 18, 2026, this year’s theme is Intersectional Ecologies, and SoMad is looking for submissions that explore the ecological crises through an intersectional environmentalist lens.

TEACHING ARTIST OPPORTUNITY
Washington Square Park Conservancy (WSPC) offers a unique opportunity for artists to share their practice with the public this summer. Now in its third year, the objective of WSPC’s Teaching Artist Residency is to support teaching artists and engage the public through accessible and inclusive weekly programming under the shade of Washington Square Park’s trees.

CURATORIAL FELLOWSHIP
Prospect Art is looking for video works for their 2027 programming, “Change/Exchange.” Entries will be considered for physical exhibitions and screenings presented in Los Angeles, Lisbon, and Budapest, a series of online screenings on their BROADCAST program, as well as the publication of articles on their ONE WORK program.

The Spector Craft Prize is an annual initiative launched in 2025 to champion excellence in American craft. Founded by Abigail Klem Spector and Warren Spector through the Spector Family Foundation, the program supports craft artists at pivotal moments in their careers through awards, mentorship, and community-building.

Sow True Seeds is calling artists to submnit their work to appear on their seed packets. Each year, they add 30 new art packets to their collection, and the winning artist will choose the 2027 Catalog Cover Artist

PUPPERTRY GRANT
The Jim Henson Foundation awards grants for the creation of innovative new works of contemporary puppet theater. There are three grants: workshop grants ($3,000), production grants ($7,000), and family grants ($4,000). Individual artists must apply through a fiscal sponsor.

DANCE GRANT
Made possible by the support of the Ford Foundation, New York Community Trust, and other generous funders, the pilot iteration of the Dance Workforce Resilience (DWR) Fund directly supports individual freelance dancers through one-time $1,000 grants.

LENS-BASED FELLOWSHIP
The En Foco Artist Fellowship Program is designed to support artists of color who utilize lens-based mediums and digital media technologies in their creative processes. This program merges the previous Photography Fellowship and Media Arts Fund, creating a unified opportunity for photographers and media-based artists in New York State.

New York Foundation for the Arts‘ Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grant program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography.

CALL FOR SCHOLARLY ARTICLES
The Feminist Press is calling for Scholarly articles and Artistic works for a special issue of WSQ, which will consider the social, affective, and political consequences of living with chronic illness. WSQ is soliciting personal and researched essays that reflect this variety and map the critical and scholarly intersections of chronic illness with disability and critical race studies, notably in relation to lupus, but also related to health and healthcare issues.

The Daniel K. RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The New York Public Library’s Picture Collection, part of the Wallach Division of Art, Prints, and Photographs, is pleased to offer the Picture Collection Artist Fellowship. The Fellowship supports artists or scholars engaged in the research, development, and/or execution of a new creative or scholarly work based on the Collection’s holdings. Fellowship stipends are awarded on a sliding scale from $2,000 to $5,000.
