R U Still Stretching? is a special yoga event taking place inside R U STILL PAINTING???, a dynamic group exhibition set in a raw, unused commercial space in Midtown Manhattan. The exhibition explores the creative process in all its messy, persistent, and vulnerable forms, making it the perfect backdrop for an embodied practice like yoga. Participants are invited to stretch, breathe, and slow down amidst large-scale paintings and installations, transforming the space into a site for both physical and creative renewal. It’s art, movement, and mindfulness, all in one extraordinary setting.
About Don Batalla
Don James Batalla is a certified Sivananda Hatha Yoga Teacher whose practice evolved from his time living in an Ashram, where he learned therapeutic techniques to enhance self-awareness and consciousness. As an artist and wellness advocate, Don also designs for Solwave, a collective dedicated to helping New Yorkers heal through art and wellness.
About Bianca Maiocchi
Bianca began volunteering at the Broome Street Ganesha Temple over two years ago and is a graduate of the Yoga Education Collective, founded by Eddie Stern and Robert Moses. Her classes blend restorative and energizing practices aimed at reducing stress and anxiety, with a focus on supporting the well-being of college students. Bianca is currently completing a degree in Somatic Studies, exploring Spiritual Belief, Neuroscience, and Mind-Body Remedies, alongside minors in Social Work and Art.

The exhibition originated from a unique collaboration that allowed the organizers — thanks to the vision of an inspired landlord — to temporarily convert 40,000 square feet of corporate, under-construction space in Midtown Manhattan into an exhibition site. The curators’ choice of a gutted, raw space expresses the will of an artist community to reclaim agency in a landscape where independent creative space is vanishing at speed.
R U STILL PAINTING??? is not a question posed to the artists, but a provocation drawn from online culture — both a meme and an ironic response to a digital visual world where the human hand is allegedly no longer required to generate multiple imaginaries.
This survey celebrates the imperfect nature of the physical — painting that bleeds and groans, stumbles and laughs as it fractures imagery into unexpected forms. These canvases reclaim inconsistency as a virtue, discovering meaning through the push and pull of physical gesture. Far from being a relic of history, painting reemerges here with evolving urgency: in a disembodied age, paint becomes a declaration of the artist’s embodied presence.
FALCON Art Collective is a group of New York–based artists and curators dedicated to reactivating urban spaces through independent cultural initiatives. FALCON’s mission is to promote contemporary art while cultivating meaningful relationships among artists. The collective takes a pragmatic view of the New York art market — using it as a tool, not as an end in itself. We will gather for an afternoon of grounding in our collective presence with a brief meditation, a roundtable discussion on our skills, goals, and individual and collective Roles for Collective Liberation as outlined by The Slow Factory, moving into skill-share “speed-dating” to connect across our abilities and goals for the future and conclude with valentine making using all sustainable and repurposed materials, mingling, and a bake sale.

After an incredible inaugural event, under the pale blue returns with a dynamic roster of exceptionally talented artists and musicians for an evening that you won’t want to miss.
Undercurrent, our newest exhibition, will feature paintings, sculptures, and photography by fifteen female and non-binary artists local to New York. This expansive exhibition explores themes of domesticity, objectification of the female form, mysticism, and bodily abstraction. Sticking true to our mission, under the pale blue aims to amplify emerging voices and, carve out space for the underrepresented creators of this thriving arts community.

Presentation is an art exhibition showcasing the works of Trevor Warren, SaCha Stewart-Coleman, Samba Jean-Baptiste, and Karryl Eugene. The exhibited works encompass a diverse range of mediums including sound, painting, sculpture, and interactive art. This exhibition is dedicated to championing emerging artists who focus on themes such as observation, creation in the information age, cultural exchange, exploration of material, and introspection. Presentation seeks to highlight artist-led curation outside the context of traditional commercial gallery spaces.

Ebbs & Flows, an exhibition of Paul Rho's work curated by Yuyue (Eunice) Chen
Opening July 7th at One Eyed Studios, Ebbs and Flows is Paul Rho’s debut solo exhibition in New York. Showcasing his multimedia work spanning photography, ceramic, installation, and sound, Curator Eunice Chen has created a space where people can experience the changes of time and space, nature and the cosmos, and engage with local communities.
A multimedia artist whose interest lies in the materiality of photography, Rho’s interest in the moon, which serves as a major inspiration for his work, begins with his fascination with time, tradition, and nature. As time passes in a daily 24-hour cycle, the sun sets and the moon rises. During the Joseon Dynasty, people made wishes upon the moon, and the moon jars, crafted by anonymous artisans, are considered the essence of Joseon white porcelain representing elegance and simplicity in response to the core Confucian value of ‘etiquette (禮)’ of the time.
When the artist spins the pottery wheel to create a moon jar, he contemplates the cyclical nature of time embodied in the rotating clock, the Earth’s rotation, and the seasonal changes following the solar terms. His interest in the fluidity of the universe and the cycles of time and nature are intertwined with the temporality generated in the process of image formation through developing photographs in the dark room.
The central piece, Tidal (2023), embodies this interest through the meticulously sculpted multimedia work. Made with a traditional Korean Mulberry Hanji paper coated with a gelatin silver emulsion which was then cast around a moon jar, also made by Rho, the work includes a sound component by Julian Zehnder. The twelve jars surround the space clockwise with Hanbok made by the Korean artisan Cheonshik Yang and ceramic bells newly created for the exhibition. The temporal shifts and temporal cycles created within this multimedia piece resonate with the artist’s own diaspora, who has lived in Argentina, the UK, and the United States after leaving Korea at the age of 14.
Resonating with Chen’s curatorial priorities which focus on migration and diaspora, body and space, environmental injustice, and critical urbanism, Chen writes, “(Paul’s practice) reminds me of a sentence by Song Ci: ‘People have sorrow and joy, as the moon waxes and wanes. The seasons turn, each in their own time. Ever changing, never changing.2 … Rho’s photographs are not just digital images; they are variable dimensions that measure space and invite viewers to walk in and experience the intricate interplay of time and space.”
The exhibition is on view from July 7 and runs through the 21, 2024.
About Paul Rho
Paul Rho (노바울, b.1989, Seoul, Korea) is an interdisciplinary artist dealing with personal memories through photography, video, sculpture, and performance. He began his studies at the University of Arts London and completed a bachelor’s degree in Photography at the School of Visual Arts followed by a master’s degree in Visual Arts at Columbia University. His practice concentrates on how photographic materials; paper, film, and light-sensitive chemicals can be transformed into sculptures rather than storytelling tools. The act of taking photographs has become our society’s behaviour of existence due to digital technology. His photography is about chemical reactions, not the digital translation of 0 and 1. To honour the pioneers of photography, he investigates various methods of photography processes and sculpts with chemical photographs. Meanwhile, his work is influenced by personal experiences, such as folding, sewing, traditional Korean pottery, and Korean traditional music. When he was 14, he left Korea and lived in Canada, Italy, England, Argentina, and the United States. After living as an expat for two decades, he is finally navigating and accepting his roots. He currently resides and works in New York.

Presence // Absence is a multi-sensorial exhibition presented by “under the pale blue” curated by Rockella Space Member Britt Harrison and is supported by RRASP, featuring light and fabric sculpture, large-scale installation, multimedia painting, and live performance. The themes of this exhibition incorporate spirituality, ritual, life, loss, and identity.
Presence // Absence explores the tension between existence and non-existence. This selection of works of art invites the viewer to confront the space where meaning lingers and dissipates, where what is not represented is as valuable as what is.
Each work challenges perceptions of personal experience versus collective knowledge. We ask the audience to reflect on how identity is defined not just by physical form but by emotional resonance and historical weight. This sweeping, multi-sensory exhibition merges sculpture, installation, painting, and live performance to explore the intricate interplay between life, loss, and identity. Engaging the viewer in a dynamic conversation, this exhibition unveils the potency of absence as an active force, shaping the contours of memory, identity, and meaning. Each work is both physical and conceptual, inviting reflection on how presence can be felt in what is unseen and how voids subtly mold our perceptions of existence.
