NRAC Spring Workshop Series

Manga Lab

12 Sessions starting April 4th, 2026

Days: Fridays and Saturdays

Times: 2-4 pm

Location: Rockella Midtown, 520 8th Ave, 24th Floor, New York, NY 10018

In this 6-week course, you’ll learn everything from character design to complete inking of your final project. We’ll explore different techniques, develop a storyboard, and learn how to create a story timeline for easier reading. We will work with ink based markers, pens and traditional tools. You will be encouraged to choose a theme and develop it. We’ll guide you from the basics so you can explore and expand as much as you want.

There are no prior knowledge requirements, and you’re not expected to adapt to the pace of your classmates. Each student can work as slowly or quickly as they wish, as we will dedicate specific times for individual assessments, guidance, and support.

We’ll have tools like paperweights and wooden models to help with sketching poses. Students will also be guided through practical and theoretical explanations of basic anatomy and architecture. Students can use references (authors, manga, books, movies, etc.) and make their own board. We encourage originality and creativity.

The final pieces will participate in a group exhibition.

Students can ask by emai any schedule change.
Some materials are included. Please contact us to receive the complete material list.
